Welcome, New Prototypes!

Welcome, New Prototypes!

Welcome, New Prototypes!

My name is Todd Durkin and I am Head of the Under Armour Performance Training Council, a collection of the highest caliber strength and conditioning pros in the world. We’re here to teach you what you won’t be able to find anywhere else: the methods, exercises, drills, and tips that will help you reach your true full potential. We call it TNP Training—it’s The New Prototype of Training for The New Prototype of Athlete.

A little about me:

I own a world-class human performance facility, Fitness Quest 10, in San Diego, CA, where I’ve trained hundreds of college and pro athletes and thousands of youth and high school athletes. I’ve traveled the globe and worked with some of the greatest coaches and athletes around. From NFL MVP’s to Olympic gold medalists to All-Stars and Pro-Bowlers, I have shared my work with the best of the best. Now I get to share it with you.

Our goal is to educate and inspire you to reach your full potential in sport and life. We’re excited to be part of a team brought together by the best gear makers on the planet—Under Armour. UA changed the way athletes think about their gear, and together we’ll change the way athletes approach their training. The Council will use this website and blog to share our knowledge and expertise in the sports performance training and conditioning field with you.

Let’s get into it now. TNP Performance Training is about how you prepare to succeed. It’s about how you think, how you live, and how you get after it when you train. It’s all-encompassing.

The factors that determine your success as an athlete are:

  • Staying Pain-Free
  • Physical Conditioning (strength, speed, power, agility, quickness, coordination, etc.)
  • Nutrition
  • Recovery & Regeneration (flexibility, massage, foam rolling, sleep, etc.)
  • Mindset (positive mental/emotional component, belief, commitment, toughness, etc.)
As we get started with the site, we’ll share some of our methodologies to help you reach maximum genetic potential and drive optimal performance. Our primary focus is to help you improve your “core competencies” of physical performance:
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Evasiveness
  • Strength
  • Metabolic Conditioning
  • Flexibility
Each of these components can be taught and improved, and we’ll do just that with the best exercises, drills, and techniques to maximize your overall athleticism. So stay tuned, visit the TNP Training Underground Blog often for insider tips, and get ready to go to work.

Until next time…Be Humble, Stay Hungry!

I love the blog. I stumbled on it off the main Crossfit website. I get a lot of questions on speed and agility training and this blog is going to help tremendously. I also hope to get to a point where I can train athletes the way you do. Thanks again.
